EHS Safety Professional

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain workplace safety programs aligned with OSHA regulations and LG Chem Corporate EHS Management Systems
• Lead incident, near-miss, and unsafe condition investigations using root cause analysis
• Support safe operation of manufacturing equipment including extruders, mixers, and pelletizers
• Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), process hazard reviews (HAZOP), and Management of Change (MOC) processes
• Develop and deliver specialized safety training for employees and contractors
• Support safety programs for laboratory, testing, and pilot-scale environments
• Exercise stop-work authority to address unsafe conditions or behaviors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, EHS, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
• 3+ years of safety experience in chemical manufacturing, plastics compounding, or polymer processing
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to industrial machinery and laboratory operations
• Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification such as ASP, CSP, or GSP
• Experience with NFPA requirements, LOTO, confined space, and combustible dust standards
• Familiarity with ISO-style EHS Management Systems or Responsible Care® (RC14001)
• Experience with electrical safety (NFPA 70E) and machine guarding
