EH&S Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Assist the Environment, Health and Safety function on a single site in Egypt
• Support the EH&S Manager in achieving local, regional, and corporate objectives
• Oversee operator training to ensure health and safety standards are met
• Implement EH&S training requirements for managers and supervisors
• Execute fatality prevention and framework assessment programs
• Represent the company at customer meetings
• Liaise with government and federal agencies regarding EH&S

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a heavy industrial environment
• Competent knowledge of EH&S legislation in Egypt
• Detailed knowledge of steel industry working practices and heavy plant operation
• Proficiency in English and Arabic
• Ability to travel within Egypt and to Dubai

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS 18001 audits
• Experience as a lead accident investigator
• Proficiency in electronic incident notification systems (EMEX, MYOSH, or INS)
• Experience working for an international company
