EHS Manufacturing Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage EHS implementation for a designated manufacturing zone during startup and validation phases
• Develop and execute LOTO programs and audits in alignment with site EHS strategies
• Review, approve, and train team members on Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Safe Work Permits
• Lead and document Pre-Startup Environmental Reviews (PSERs), Pre-Functional Testing Safety Reviews (PFTSRs), and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs)
• Conduct weekly LOTO and safe-work audits and communicate deviations
• Attend daily startup coordination meetings to represent EHS in planning and readiness discussions
• Supervise and mentor assigned EHS Specialists to ensure consistent field presence
• Lead or participate in incident investigations, corrective action planning, and reporting
• Ensure safe-to-work permits and procedures are applied during turnover and system startup

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or Environmental Engineering preferred, or 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in industrial or pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Minimum 3 years of EHS leadership experience during manufacturing startup or commissioning projects
• OSHA 30-hour Construction or General Industry certification required
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification required
• Strong understanding of startup readiness, LOTO program management, and GMP-area safety standards
• Ability to work full-time on-site (typically 40–60 hours per week) in an active operational readiness environment
