EHS Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a growing EHS team in a fast-paced organization
• Build and implement scalable EHS programs, policies, and procedures for shipyard and vessel testing environments
• Oversee EHS programs for shipyard activities including fabrication, welding, blasting, and heavy equipment operations
• Manage high-risk activities such as hot work, confined spaces, and working at heights
• Ensure environmental compliance for hazardous waste, stormwater, and air emissions
• Develop EHS procedures for vessel commissioning, sea trials, and on-water testing
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, USCG, and ISM regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or public health
• 7+ years of experience in EHS, preferably in shipbuilding, offshore energy, or defense maritime environments
• Experience leading and coaching EHS team members
• Professional certification (e.g., ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in industrial hygiene, exposure assessments, and ventilation
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA/TCEQ, DOT, and USCG regulations
• Experience building EHS programs in startup or high-growth manufacturing environments
• Proven ability to integrate EHS into engineering and business design decisions
