About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, submission, and management of federal and state pesticide product registrations under FIFRA with the U.S. EPA.
  • Oversee EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) requirements, including hazard assessments and emergency response planning.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, RCRA, and applicable state/local regulations.
  • Manage occupational safety programs such as LOTO, confined space, hot work, and process safety.
  • Conduct incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee environmental management including hazardous waste disposal, SPCC plans, and chemical management.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, including DOT HazMat and pesticide-specific topics.
  • Perform site inspections, safety audits, and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in chemical distribution or manufacturing.
  • Thorough working knowledge of OSHA 1910/1926, EPA (FIFRA, RMP, RCRA), and DOT HazMat regulations.
  • Proven experience with pesticide registrations, product stewardship, and regulatory strategy.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to interface with regulators and management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CHMM, ASP, or CIH.
  • Experience with ISO 9001/14001 or Responsible Distribution programs.
  • Experience with EHS software or electronic reporting systems.
  • Possession of a TWIC card.
