EHS Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage the plant’s environmental, health and safety (EHS), fire safety and property protection (FSPP) sustainability programmes.
• Drive delivery of EHS strategy, KPIs, and programmes through local initiatives and proactive reporting.
• Develop and implement Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) and engagement initiatives to promote a positive safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with EHS legislative requirements, including laws, regulations, permits, and licenses.
• Implement and maintain hazard identification and risk assessment programmes using the hierarchy of control.
• Manage environmental aspects including emissions, waste, water, energy, and VOCs.
• Oversee the investigation of EHS incidents, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Maintain integrated EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and coordinate internal/external audits.
• Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Relevant high-level EHS qualification (minimum diploma or local equivalent).
• Alternatively, an Engineering qualification with at least 3 years of EHS managerial experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• At least 10 years of total EHS working experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of EHS legislative requirements and implementing Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) programmes.
• Experience managing fire safety and property protection insurance risks.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Dutch.
