EH&S Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain compliance with Texas Health and Safety Codes, OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH
• Collaborate with leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement safety policies
• Execute industrial hygiene studies to analyze manufacturing byproducts
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct hazards
• Complete documented safety observations from regular hazard identification audits
• Investigate industrial accidents and injuries to determine root causes and corrective actions
• Develop safety solutions using the hierarchy of controls (elimination, engineering controls, PPE, etc.)
• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (emphasis on occupational health, safety, or environmental engineering)
• 3+ years of experience in EHS design, development, and operational oversight
• Knowledge of process safety management, pressure systems, and chemical delivery systems
• Experience interpreting and documenting federal, state, and local safety/environmental regulations
• Experience with emergency response and incident management involving hazardous material releases
