About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain compliance with Texas Health and Safety Codes, OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH
- Collaborate with leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement safety policies
- Execute industrial hygiene studies to analyze manufacturing byproducts
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct hazards
- Complete documented safety observations from regular hazard identification audits
- Investigate industrial accidents and injuries to determine root causes and corrective actions
- Develop safety solutions using the hierarchy of controls (elimination, engineering controls, PPE, etc.)
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (emphasis on occupational health, safety, or environmental engineering)
- 3+ years of experience in EHS design, development, and operational oversight
- Knowledge of process safety management, pressure systems, and chemical delivery systems
- Experience interpreting and documenting federal, state, and local safety/environmental regulations
- Experience with emergency response and incident management involving hazardous material releases
