About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the on-site environmental, health, and safety organization through the development and maintenance of effective management systems.
- Monitor and report EHS performance, connecting lessons learned and best practices across regional supply chains.
- Investigate EHS accidents and high-potential incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive site safety culture by encouraging and rewarding safe behaviors and engaging with site personnel.
- Manage the EHS department budget and ensure appropriate staffing levels and succession planning.
- Execute Crisis Management and business continuity processes to ensure site loss prevention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, HR, and IT to integrate EHS into site strategy.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding air, water, soil, waste, and sustainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Occupational Safety.
- Proven experience managing EHS risks within the FMCG, Pharmaceutical, or a related high-hazard sector.
- Strong knowledge of risk management methods and EHS tracking databases.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 years of experience in the EHS field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a people management role.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- Membership in professional organizations like ASSP or AIHA.
