About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, administer, and enhance employee health and safety programs in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and job safety analyses for manufacturing processes
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Manage EHS-related projects and processes independently, providing coaching to junior professionals
- Perform measurements of hazardous substances and environmental factors such as noise and chemical exposure
- Ensure compliance with Brazilian government EHS regulations (NRs) through regular audits and inspections
- Prepare and maintain all required EHS records and documentation for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Post-graduate specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering (Especialização em Engenharia de Segurança do Trabalho) is required
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in an EHS function, preferably within a manufacturing or heavy industry environment
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and processes independently with limited supervision
- Advanced knowledge of Brazilian EHS regulations (NRs)
