About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and monitor on-site activities to ensure safety compliance
- Oversee work permits and ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards
- Provide risk assessment support to employees and contractors
- Coach supervisors to promote safety leadership and a culture of responsibility
- Deliver EHS inductions for employees and contractors
- Manage contractor EHS documentation and readiness
- Lead EHS committee meetings and conduct monthly toolbox talks
- Investigate accidents and implement follow-up action plans for continuous improvement
- Implement emergency measures and first aid protocols
- Take immediate action to stop operational activities posing high risks to people or the environment
Requirements
- University degree in Environment, Health, and Safety or a related field
- Health & Safety Qualification recognized by local authorities
- 2 to 5 years of EHS experience, with mandatory experience on construction sites
- In-depth knowledge of ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO45001 standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong written English communication skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and analytical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in project-based environments
- Experience within the railway industry
