EH&S Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Consult with departments on equipment design, fire prevention, and safety programs.
• Inspect plant facilities, machinery, and fire safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards.
• Conduct safety training to educate workers on emergency protocols, safety policies, and legal practices.
• Investigate industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepare detailed accident reports.
• Perform air quality tests for harmful gases and vapors.
• Serve as an internal consultant on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, and chemical safety.
• Administer workers' compensation, OSHA logs, and return-to-work programs.
• Interface with outside vendors and contractors regarding workplace health and safety matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environment, Health Sciences, or equivalent experience in EH&S.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in an EH&S or related position.
• Strong knowledge of related environmental health and safety regulations, codes, and guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience managing people or direct reports.
