Educator

Responsibilities

• Educate the public on conservation, ecosystems, and animal welfare through formal lectures and guided tours.
• Present live animal shows and educational demonstrations for school groups and visitors.
• Engage with visitors and schools to provide detailed information about the zoo's animal collection.
• Prepare educational materials including posters, brochures, banners, and workbooks.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and keepers to stay updated on animal health and zoo happenings.
• Interact with guests to resolve concerns politely and provide accurate information.
• Support the engagement of volunteers and interns to achieve zoo goals.
• Assist with animal observations and emergency incidents involving animals or people if required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences, Zoology, Biology, Animal Science, Education, or a related field.
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to adapt to different age groups and learning abilities.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• No known allergic conditions to animals.
• Professional appearance and punctuality.
