About the role
Responsibilities
- Support show production teams in preparing daily news segments and live programming
- Assist with writing scripts, headlines, and show elements for broadcast
- Research stories, markets, companies, and interview guests to support editorial output
- Transcribe interviews and identify key soundbites for TV and digital platforms
- Prepare production elements including video clips, graphics requests, and lower-thirds
- Work with video editors to cut packages and short-form digital content
- Assist with guest coordination and pre-interview preparation
- Contribute ideas for segments, features, and digital content
- Support field shoots and special projects as required
- Clip and package highlights for CNBC’s digital and social platforms
Requirements
- Recent graduate or final-year student in journalism, media, business, economics, or a related field
- Strong interest in business news, financial markets, and global current affairs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, live news environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Basic understanding of TV production workflows and digital media
- Willingness to travel to London and Singapore for two weeks each during the traineeship
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to take initiative
