Editorial Trainee

Responsibilities

• Support show production teams in preparing daily news segments and live programming
• Assist with writing scripts, headlines, and show elements for broadcast
• Research stories, markets, companies, and interview guests to support editorial output
• Transcribe interviews and identify key soundbites for TV and digital platforms
• Prepare production elements including video clips, graphics requests, and lower-thirds
• Work with video editors to cut packages and short-form digital content
• Assist with guest coordination and pre-interview preparation
• Contribute ideas for segments, features, and digital content
• Support field shoots and special projects as required
• Clip and package highlights for CNBC’s digital and social platforms

Requirements

• Recent graduate or final-year student in journalism, media, business, economics, or a related field
• Strong interest in business news, financial markets, and global current affairs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, live news environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Basic understanding of TV production workflows and digital media
• Willingness to travel to London and Singapore for two weeks each during the traineeship
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to take initiative
