Editorial Engagement Support Assistant

Responsibilities

• Manage data governance by ensuring editor and reviewer information complies with established data standards across enterprise systems.
• Support the onboarding process for new editors and reviewers, including verifying candidate integrity and managing invitation processes.
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service via support inboxes.
• Coordinate the creation of editor and reviewer contracts and ensure seamless access to relevant publishing systems.
• Maintain accurate journal board pages on company websites and ensure all records are up to date.
• Assist with editor re-engagement initiatives, including mailings and data analysis of engagement surveys.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and process requests such as Article Processing Charge (APC) tokens and EBM certificates.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in STM journal publishing.
• Strong understanding of the peer review process and the function of editorial boards.
• Proven experience working with publishing workflows, content management systems, and databases.
• Demonstrated expertise in customer service with a customer-focused mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with global stakeholders.
• High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Degree level education or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience researching and verifying professional backgrounds for data integrity.
• Ability to work effectively within a team to achieve collective objectives.
• Comfort working with ambiguity and a proactive approach to suggesting process improvements.
