Editorial Director

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day editorial and production operations, overseeing workflow, assignments, and production timelines
• Drive editorial planning and programming strategy to align with show vision and audience growth
• Manage the editorial calendar, including scheduling and backfill coverage
• Run pitch and prep meetings to guide story development
• Provide editorial oversight for twice-weekly episodes, including prep docs and final content review
• Partner with the host and Executive Producer on special projects and brand expansion
• Supervise, mentor, and support team members to foster professional development
• Monitor audience trends and translate insights into actionable content improvements

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in podcast production, audio journalism, or editorial news leadership
• Proven experience managing editorial teams, including producers and editors
• Strong news judgment regarding politics, tech, and culture
• Experience producing long-form interview-driven content with high-profile guests
• Ability to own an editorial calendar end-to-end
• Experience working closely with prominent talent or hosts
• Fluency in audio production software (Pro Tools or equivalent) or video editing software (Adobe Premiere or equivalent)
• Familiarity with audience analytics and data-driven programming
