Responsibilities

• Shape editorial coverage by assigning stories and managing daily content for Outkick.com
• Work closely with the Head of Content, Senior Editors, and Social Media team to leverage unique brand angles
• Monitor the news cycle to ensure comprehensive coverage of pertinent news for the audience
• Copy-edit and fact-check stories to ensure accuracy and quality before publication
• Write and report on stories when necessary
• Support senior editorial staff in the daily management of the site

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in news, TV, or digital media
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
• Proficiency with Content Management Systems (CMS)
• Strong SEO and social media skills
• Excellent news judgment and organizational skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call for breaking news
• Strong interest in sports, pop culture, and general news

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with digital analytics to monitor and build traffic
• Prior experience managing or writing newsletters
• Experience utilizing A.I. tools to create workflow efficiencies
