Editor

Responsibilities

• Provide editorial leadership and brand guardianship for What’s On across the UAE and KSA
• Develop and implement editorial policy and content strategy across print, digital, and social platforms
• Plan magazine issues and supplements at least two editions in advance
• Oversee the editing, sub-editing, and final approval of all content to maintain high quality standards
• Commission, write, and edit articles for print, digital, video, podcasts, and social media
• Manage and grow the brand’s social media presence and online community engagement
• Collaborate with CCO, Art Director, and Commercial teams on covers, events, and special projects
• Lead, train, and mentor the editorial team to ensure adherence to deadlines and performance targets
• Monitor analytics to support audience growth and ensure SEO best practices are followed
• Ensure legal compliance with UAE press and publication laws

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an editorial leadership role, preferably in lifestyle or media publishing
• Strong understanding of UAE press laws and editorial compliance
• Proficiency in Google Analytics and Parse.ly
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and lead a team in a fast-paced environment
