Editor (Medical Journalism)

Responsibilities

• Report on medical studies, clinical guidelines, diagnostic and therapeutic innovations, congresses, and press conferences
• Plan and create content for print editions, websites, newsletters, and social media channels
• Monitor the newsdesk for current developments and provide timely reporting
• Commission freelance authors and edit their texts to ensure high-quality, engaging content
• Maintain professional relationships with medical societies, expert authors, and industry partners
• Manage selected projects, including corporate publishing initiatives
• Work within an interdisciplinary editorial team to plan cross-media content

Requirements

• Degree in medicine, science, pharmacy, or journalism
• Completed journalistic traineeship (Volontariat)
• Professional experience in a medical or online editorial environment
• Excellent German language skills with a strong command of journalistic writing styles
• Good proficiency in English (written and spoken)
• Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and social media platforms
• Strong communication skills, organizational ability, and a team-oriented mindset
