About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site ECU reprogramming and software deployment at various GM manufacturing sites
  • Set up reflash environments and lead teams of contractors to execute ECU flashing
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to optimize current reflash processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in real-time within production and yard environments
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations
  • Build strategic relationships across software, manufacturing, and program management functions

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of vehicle electrical systems, ECUs, or embedded systems
  • Basic knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN or Ethernet
  • Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic or reprogramming tools (e.g., NeoVI, vSPY, DPS)
  • Understanding of manufacturing or end-of-line (EOL) processes and validation concepts
  • Ability to execute standardized technical procedures in fast-paced plant or field environments
  • Willingness to travel extensively (75%+) and work off-shifts, weekends, or extended hours as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in automotive, manufacturing, or technical test environments
  • Direct exposure to ECU flashing, diagnostics, or vehicle software tools
  • Experience supporting technical deployments, product launches, or field operations
  • Basic scripting or automation familiarity (e.g., Python, logging tools)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
