About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor macroeconomic situations and policy trends to support IFC investment operations and due diligence within the Maghreb cluster.
- Identify potential economic risks to IFC investments and advise Regional Directors and operational teams on mitigation strategies.
- Produce high-quality technical notes, policy briefs, presentations, and country reports for senior management.
- Contribute to key diagnostic products including Country Private Sector Diagnostics (CPSD) and Country Climate Development Reports (CCDR).
- Support the design of reform dialogue and advisory projects to promote private sector development.
- Facilitate knowledge management and expertise exchange with broader IFC Economics and Industry departments.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in economics, international development, public policy, business, or finance.
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience with a strong grounding in economic analysis.
- Strong analytical skills in macroeconomics and sector-specific analysis.
- Proven ability to translate complex analyses into actionable policy dialogue and programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in French.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in and strong knowledge of the economic context and challenges of North Africa.
- Understanding of IFC project cycles, approval processes, and business decision-making drivers.
- Knowledge of IFC, IDA, IBRD, and MIGA products and instruments.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to cultivate professional networks.
