About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach Introduction to Economics (ECO 1100) face-to-face at various partner correctional institutions in Ohio
  • Deliver curriculum developed by the department and organize instruction to maximize student learning
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies and use available instructional technology
  • Modify instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse students
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by established deadlines
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student information

Requirements

  • Master's degree in economics, or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in economics
  • Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work successfully in a diverse community
  • Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience
