Economic Development Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the initiation, negotiation, and completion of state and local economic incentive agreements including tax abatements and exemptions
• Design and negotiate community benefit agreements (CBAs) aligned with company pillars
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with local elected officials and government stakeholders
• Address local issues impacting sites of operation, including neighborhood complaints and good neighbor agreements
• Monitor legislative developments and conduct policy research to support advocacy efforts
• Support grassroots activities, site tours, and local community activations
• Develop intelligence-gathering strategies to identify emerging trends impacting the business

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Public Policy, Business, Political Science, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in economic development, government relations, or public affairs
• Direct experience structuring or negotiating tax incentive agreements
• Proven ability to analyze complex policy issues and manage multiple priorities
• Strong interpersonal, diplomacy, and writing skills
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with energy, tech (AI and data centers), or real estate issues
• Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) accreditation
