Ecologist

Responsibilities

• Conduct ecological surveys and vegetation assessments in various bioregions
• Prepare environmental reports, including ecological impact assessments and management plans
• Contribute to project planning, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
• Assess data and develop native vegetation and ecological assessment reports
• Build strong relationships with colleagues and clients to assist in developing project scopes and proposals
• Participate in ongoing professional development and scientific organizations

Requirements

• Degree in Environmental or Natural Science (Ecology, Botany, Biology, or similar)
• Previous consulting or advisory experience in ecological assessments
• Field experience in flora surveys, ecological monitoring, and species identification
• General fauna survey experience
• Working knowledge of Commonwealth and State environmental legislation
• Proficiency in GIS, field mapping, and managing spatial datasets

• Interest and willingness to participate in national-scale projects
