About the role

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Kidango model of early childhood mental health consultation services to staff, children, and families
  • Conduct ongoing consultation meetings, observations, and assessments
  • Participate in individual and group reflective supervision
  • Develop and facilitate trainings on early childhood mental health topics
  • Provide interventions for mental health or behavioral crises
  • Support the referral process for community-based services and resources
  • Complete data collection and reporting for program evaluation

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in Child Development, Human Development, mental health, education, or a related behavioral science field
  • Minimum one year of experience providing mental health or therapeutic services to children ages 0–5 and their families
  • Experience assessing young children’s social-emotional functioning
  • Ability to travel daily throughout Santa Clara, Alameda, and/or Contra Costa counties
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass health screening, TB test, and background fingerprint clearance
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensure in California as LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Psychologist
  • Infant/family early childhood mental health or reflective practice endorsement
  • Training in evidence-based or trauma-informed practices (e.g., Child Parent Psychotherapy)
  • Familiarity with Early Head Start, Head Start, or state preschool programs
