Early Childhood Educator

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and supervision to children, including feeding, napping, toileting, and diaper changing.
• Plan and implement daily and weekly developmentally appropriate activities, such as large motor and outdoor play.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment, ensuring children are kept within sight and sound at all times.
• Complete and maintain essential records, including attendance, observations, lesson plans, and assessments.
• Communicate effectively with co-teachers, directors, and parents regarding child activities and general concerns.
• Participate in required state training, including mandated reporter, CPR, and annual in-service training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrolled in or completion of Early Childhood I and II.
• Proven ability to plan and organize activities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing quality childcare.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registry Level 12+ on WIRegistry.org.
• Associate degree in childcare.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field plus three early childhood classes (if the degree is not in education).
