Early Childhood Education Consultant

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison to childcare centers to integrate developmental screenings into their practices
• Provide in-person and virtual training to childcare programs
• Offer coaching and technical assistance on early childhood, developmental screenings, and inclusive practices
• Manage a caseload and maintain correlated files
• Review, organize, and document data from childcare programs
• Travel to multiple childcare centers within NYC to deliver materials and support
• Collaborate with NYC Health Department staff and participating programs

Requirements

• Master's degree in education with 12 graduate credits in early childhood/elementary education and 3 years of relevant experience, OR
• Bachelor's degree in education with student teaching experience plus a Master's in education, social work, psychology, or counseling and 3 years of relevant experience
• Five years of satisfactory teaching experience in early childhood education may substitute for the three years of experience requirement
• Ability to travel within NYC and carry equipment up to 15 pounds
• Strong presentation and training abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with early childhood programs or childcare settings (birth to age 5)
• Experience performing developmental screenings using tools like the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ)
• Background in Social Work, Human Services, or Special Education
• Experience managing volunteer partners
• Strong data collection and organization skills
