Early Childhood Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in facilitating child development and implementing age-appropriate programs
• Facilitate cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development while promoting diversity and inclusion
• Maintain a safe and clean environment by monitoring indoor and outdoor spaces and following health and safety protocols
• Meet the health, welfare, and nutritional needs of children, including following safe toileting and diapering procedures
• Build and maintain meaningful relationships with families and provide them with program resources and updates
• Complete daily logs and documentation regarding child progress and program activities
• Implement positive behavior guidance and assist with conflict resolution and empathy building

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• One year of related experience in a childcare or educational setting
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Standard First Aid & Level C CPR certification
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks such as room setup and cleaning

Preferred Qualifications

• Food Handlers Certificate
• Access to a vehicle for potential travel to multiple locations
