Early Childhood Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support RECE staff in facilitating child development, behavior, and age-appropriate programming
• Implement and evaluate developmental activities focusing on cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth
• Maintain a safe and clean environment by monitoring physical hazards and following sanitation protocols
• Meet the health, welfare, and safety needs of children, including supervision during off-site activities
• Follow safe toileting, diapering, and nutritional procedures, including accommodating special dietary needs
• Build and maintain meaningful, inclusive relationships with children and their families
• Complete daily logs and documentation regarding child progress and program activities
• Implement emergency and evacuation plans in collaboration with the RECE

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• One year of related experience in a childcare or similar setting
• Standard First Aid & Level C CPR certification
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Updated Medical clearance
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Food Handlers Certificate
• Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
