Early Career R&D Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide critical R&D contributions throughout the entire product realization lifecycle, including requirements engineering, traceability, validation, and verification (V&V).
• Develop requirements traceability reports, qualification plans, and essential engineering authorizations to ensure products meet design intent.
• Perform risk analysis and apply defect prevention strategies to develop safe, reliable, and robust products.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including staff, team leads, and management, to integrate people, products, and activities.
• Engage in projects spanning conceptual design, development, production, maintenance, and retirement for both nuclear and non-nuclear components.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and engineering/scientific experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to work onsite in Livermore, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Engineering or a highly related field involving independent research.
• Experience working with Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) laboratories or plants.
• Experience in engineering design, qualification, production, or modeling/simulation projects.
• Background in product development, manufacturing, or designing/qualifying hardware and software.
• Proficiency in authoring qualification plans, requirements maps, and test plans.
