About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for mining and mineral processing facilities.
- Maintain and service electrical distribution systems, including electric motors, transformers, switchgear, starters, and MCCs.
- Fabricate, install, and repair DCS and PLC control systems, SCADA, and wireless systems.
- Execute preventive maintenance activities according to OEM standards to maximize equipment availability.
- Act as a safety leader by ensuring all work complies with company, state, and federal regulations, including NFPA Arc Flash standards.
- Read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings to assemble panels and control boxes.
- Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service to minimize downtime.
Requirements
- High School diploma and an Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a technical school, or 5-10 years of related industrial experience.
- Valid Journeyman Certification.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Familiarity with NFPA Arc Flash safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Physical ability to perform heavy manual labor, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
