About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for mining and mineral processing facilities.
- Maintain and service machinery, including instrumentation, control systems, lighting, generators, and electrical distribution systems such as motors, transformers, and switchgear.
- Fabricate, install, and repair DCS and PLC control systems, SCADA, and wireless systems.
- Complete preventive maintenance activities according to OEM standards and respond to routine or emergency repair calls.
- Act as a safety leader by ensuring all work complies with company, state, and federal regulations, including NFPA Arc Flash safety.
- Read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings to assemble panels and control boxes.
- Monitor work performed by outside contractors to ensure adherence to National Electrical Code requirements.
Requirements
- High School diploma and an Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a technical school, OR 5-10 years of related industrial E&I experience.
- Valid Journeyman Certification.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Familiarity with NFPA Arc Flash safety regulations.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various weather conditions.
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and elevated walkways.
