About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform structural dynamic and acoustic design and simulations using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to predict component and system responses.
- Conduct structural dynamic analysis of critical rotating machinery, including vibration, shock, acoustic, and seismic analysis.
- Develop and implement dynamic testing experiments such as modal, vibration, noise, and modal impact testing.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze test data, comparing results against predicted models.
- Compose high-quality technical documentation, including design reports, engineering calculations, and test reports.
- Collaborate with design teams to provide technical assistance in building, installing, and testing new equipment and facilities.
Requirements
- US citizenship is required due to DoD requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in dynamics or shock analysis.
- Proficiency in ANSYS or equivalent structural dynamic analysis software.
- Experience with B&K Pulse Data Acquisition and Analysis software or equivalent.
- Proficiency with MATLAB or similar computational tools.
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree with a focus in Structural Dynamics or Acoustics.
- Prior experience in the Defense, Nuclear, or Power Generation industries working with rotating machinery.
- Experience with Boundary Element Modeling (BEM) and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA).
- Expertise in advanced dynamic signal processing and analysis.
