About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural dynamic and acoustic design and simulations using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to predict component and system responses.
  • Conduct structural dynamic analysis of critical rotating machinery, including vibration, shock, acoustic, and seismic analysis.
  • Develop and implement dynamic testing experiments such as modal, vibration, noise, and modal impact testing.
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze test data, comparing results against predicted models.
  • Compose high-quality technical documentation, including design reports, engineering calculations, and test reports.
  • Collaborate with design teams to provide technical assistance in building, installing, and testing new equipment and facilities.

Requirements

  • US citizenship is required due to DoD requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in dynamics or shock analysis.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS or equivalent structural dynamic analysis software.
  • Experience with B&K Pulse Data Acquisition and Analysis software or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB or similar computational tools.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree with a focus in Structural Dynamics or Acoustics.
  • Prior experience in the Defense, Nuclear, or Power Generation industries working with rotating machinery.
  • Experience with Boundary Element Modeling (BEM) and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA).
  • Expertise in advanced dynamic signal processing and analysis.
