About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct dynamic engineering studies to support capital projects and ensure facility design, operability, and safety.
  • Perform safety-related simulations, including process safety time, compressor operations, and control logic testing.
  • Develop and maintain high and low fidelity Operator Training Simulators (OTS), including functional design and system integration.
  • Provide remote support and troubleshooting for OTS issues across Chevron sites.
  • Conduct research and development on new technologies, such as physics-based digital twins, and test new functionality from technology suppliers.
  • Collaborate with global subject matter experts in Houston, Texas, and participate in mentoring and on-the-job training.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in a dynamic simulation or OTS development role with an owner-operator or simulation supplier.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B. Tech) in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Proven depth in physics-based dynamic process simulation and physical properties prediction for Oil and Gas or Refining processes.
  • Proficiency in at least one simulation platform, such as UniSim Design or KSpice.
  • Familiarity with control systems including Yokogawa Centum VP, Honeywell Experion, or Honeywell TPS.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with a global workforce.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in dynamic simulation or OTS development.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or packaged control systems like Rockwell PLC or Compressor Control (CCC).
  • Expertise in developing and troubleshooting large-scale, plant-wide dynamic process models.
  • Demonstrated experience in OTS project execution, including control system integration and deployment.
