About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations for the integrated gas, electricity, and financial product portfolio.
  • Optimize gas and power portfolios to create incremental short-term value.
  • Manage long-term gas contract scheduling and negotiate terms for sales and purchases.
  • Schedule power station dispatch into the NEM and WEM markets.
  • Analyze market data and IT systems to inform strategy and improve daily processes.
  • Interact with customers, partners, and pipeline operators to ensure accurate scheduling.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory standards, contractual agreements, and risk limits.
  • Participate in a 24/7 duty trader roster, providing on-desk or on-call coverage.

Requirements

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and interpret market data.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to deliver accuracy under tight time frames.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work a shift roster in the Brisbane office, including availability at all hours.
  • Resilience and the ability to operate autonomously in a high-pressure environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in physical gas or power trading operations.
  • Commercial mindset with experience in contract management or negotiation.
  • Proficiency in analyzing energy market data and regulatory submissions.
