DTC Community Specialist

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily community engagement strategy across comments, discussions, and member groups
• Manage member interactions and facilitate thoughtful discussion aligned with brand standards
• Develop and execute community programming including AMAs, watch events, and live engagement
• Lead real-time community engagement during major news events and high-visibility moments
• Interpret and apply community guidelines to complex moderation issues
• Manage moderation workflows and partner with third-party vendors
• Identify emerging community trends and provide recommendations to editorial and product teams
• Analyze engagement metrics and prepare insights for leadership
• Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, product, audience, and customer support teams

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in community management, audience engagement, or digital media
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound independent judgment in sensitive situations
• Strong written communication skills for engaging diverse audiences
• Experience managing community engagement initiatives or live programming
• Ability to analyze engagement trends and provide actionable recommendations
• Proven ability to operate independently in a dynamic, real-time news environment
• Experience applying community guidelines and moderation standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with community platforms, moderation systems, or analytics tools
