Drywaller

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints to lay out walls and install metal or wood tracks and studs
• Measure, mark, and cut drywall panels to exact dimensions
• Fasten panels to ceilings and walls using screws, nails, or adhesives
• Apply joint compound over seams, corners, and screw heads
• Embed tape and apply multiple skim coats for a smooth finish
• Sand dried joint compound to eliminate imperfections
• Assess and repair damaged drywall and patch holes

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in drywall installation and repairs
• Mastery of hand and power tools including T-squares, drywall saws, screw guns, and taping knives
• Proficiency with stilts and mechanical lifts
• Understanding of safety standards, building codes, and insulation requirements
• Ability to pass a government background check
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift heavy wallboards, and work on ladders
