Driver/Dispatcher

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a recreational vehicle (RV) and other G-class vehicles to support research activities
• Transport research staff, tools, and equipment to various on-campus and off-campus locations
• Perform routine vehicle inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance such as checking fluids and changing tires
• Manage dispatch logs, mileage records, and fuel receipts using computerized systems and Microsoft Excel
• Coordinate pickup and delivery requests via phone, two-way radio, and electronic logging
• Load and unload equipment safely, utilizing lift gates or other lifting devices as needed
• Assist with campus snow and ice removal tasks related to the vehicle

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Valid Provincial Class G driver's licence
• Three years of experience driving related vehicles in a customer service environment
• WHMIS certification (must be able to qualify for Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate upon hiring)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Physical ability to perform manual duties, including loading/unloading and working in various weather conditions
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to work effectively in a team
