Driver Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5T van and perform daily vehicle safety checks and maintenance
• Lead and motivate a team of street cleansing operatives to complete allocated routes
• Allocate and monitor tasks, prioritizing specific streets to ensure high standards
• Perform manual cleansing tasks including sweeping, emptying litter bins, and litter picking
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety policies and drive a positive safety culture
• Report any team performance or conduct issues to the Supervisor
• Grade work standards and complete regular route checks

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• Demonstrable experience in team leadership
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound literacy skills for following route maps and safety documentation
• Technical knowledge of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation
• Ability to work independently and use initiative to prioritize tasks
