Driver Ready Mix Trainer

Responsibilities

• Provide basic instruction on safety, operation, and defensive driving for new and existing Ready Mix drivers
• Conduct safe driving and working method training programs consistent with CEMEX Driving Essentials
• Perform daily assessments and formal evaluations of trainees using academic and skills tests
• Ride with drivers to provide real-time coaching on desirable safety behaviors
• Maintain accurate trainee attendance, progress records, and evaluation forms
• Coordinate daily instruction with Core Driver Trainers and Dispatch to ensure proper equipment utilization
• Serve as a professional role model regarding conduct, attitude, and dress code

Requirements

• Valid State Class A or B CDL with Tank Endorsements (if required)
• Smith System Certification
• 3 years of Ready Mix experience or 5 years of tractor-trailer over-the-road driving experience
• Strong knowledge of current state and federal DOT regulations relating to the trucking industry
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, including back x-ray, hearing test, and drug/alcohol screen

Preferred Qualifications

• Positive instructional or teaching experience
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
