Driver

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles daily to ensure safe operation
• Maintain positive control of students during transport and ensure use of safety devices
• Ensure only authorized students are transported off Center
• Prevent contraband from being brought on center vehicles
• Transport students and deliver materials as directed
• Perform routine vehicle inspections on GSA fleet and report repair needs
• Maintain accurate vehicle, transportation, and student logs
• Enforce center standards of conduct and serve as a positive role model
• Document student misconduct accurately and timely
• Assist Safety & Security Officers with student inspections as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and air brake endorsements
• Good driving record
• Ability to obtain CDL with endorsements within ninety days of hire if not currently possessed
