Driver

Responsibilities

• Drive the EMCO truck safely in compliance with company policy and provincial legislation
• Pick customer orders and load the truck at the Profit Centre
• Secure loads properly to prevent damage or shifting
• Complete pre-trip inspections and maintain driver logs
• Unload material at customer and vendor locations and obtain signatures
• Resolve shipping discrepancies with customers at delivery sites
• Provide sales leads by noting prospective customers discovered during deliveries
• Support all Profit Centre activities and follow safety regulations

Requirements

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s licence
• Clean driver’s abstract
• Knowledge of motor vehicle and commercial vehicle regulations
• Understanding of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act
• Ability to safely operate a delivery vehicle and material handling equipment
• Excellent relationship building skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience driving a truck and making deliveries
• Knowledge of plumbing or building products
• Experience using Trend, Word, Excel, and Outlook
