About the Company

Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue organization and the expert in perishable food recovery. We rescue surplus, unsold food from across the supply chain and redistribute it to non-profits across the country to feed communities.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate straight box trucks to complete scheduled food pickups and deliveries
• Represent Second Harvest by building positive relationships with food donors and community partners
• Handle, transport, and deliver food in compliance with food safety standards
• Complete daily circle checks and vehicle inspections
• Load and unload food, including manual handling and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Maintain accurate documentation for pickups, deliveries, and vehicle use
• Collaborate with the Fleet Supervisor and team to support efficient operations

Requirements

• Valid DZ license with 3+ years of experience operating 10-speed automatic straight/box trucks
• Clean driver’s abstract for the last 3 years
• Strong knowledge of the GTA and downtown Toronto navigation
• Ability to perform physically active work, including regular lifting of up to 50 lbs
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Willingness to complete a background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the non-profit or social services sector
• Food handling experience
• Safe Food Handling Certificate
