Dredging Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Utilize engineering principles for project layout, topographic, and hydrographic surveying
• Manage dredge cut and fill planning and provide accurate vessel positioning within permit limits
• Collect and process survey data to calculate volumes of materials removed or placed
• Monitor and report on dredge production using proprietary tools and analysis programs
• Coordinate survey activities and manage survey subcontractors to meet schedule requirements
• Ensure quality control of the dredging process and maintain assigned survey equipment
• Maintain a commitment to an incident and injury-free workplace

Requirements

• Degree in Civil, Ocean, or Construction Engineering (or similar field of study)
• 1-3 years of experience in the dredging or survey industry (in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work a 19/9 rotational schedule (84-hour work weeks)
• Ability to live aboard a vessel for the full rotation
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Trimble, or Hypack software
• Ability to accurately read contract drawings and perform earthwork volume computations
