Drayage & Intermodal Operations Specialist

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily drayage and intermodal shipments between ports, rail ramps, and customer facilities
• Communicate with brokers, drivers, and customers to provide shipment status updates
• Dispatch drivers and monitor container movement to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
• Track container status through TMS systems, rail portals, and steamship line websites
• Schedule delivery and pickup appointments with warehouses, rail yards, and terminals
• Resolve operational issues and ensure compliance with port, rail, and terminal regulations
• Monitor detention, demurrage, and per diem timelines to minimize costs
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update load status in internal systems

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of experience in drayage, intermodal logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation operations
• Knowledge of port and rail operations, container logistics, and drayage processes
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and shipment tracking tools
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills with drivers, customers, and logistics partners
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment
