Drainage Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review and verify drainage design deliverables, including drawings, hydraulic calculations, specifications, and reports.
• Ensure storm water and foul drainage designs comply with ADSSC standards and Abu Dhabi authority requirements.
• Assess catchment analysis, rainfall intensity, pipe sizing, and outfall arrangements for storm water systems.
• Evaluate foul drainage network designs, including sewer pipe sizing, gradients, and manhole layouts.
• Identify design deficiencies and prepare technical review comments for consultant response.
• Support the preparation of design packages for authority submissions (ADSSC, DM, TASAREEH).
• Assist in reviewing drainage shop drawings, contractor submittals, and method statements during construction.
• Coordinate with the Senior Roads Design Engineer to ensure integrated road and drainage designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in drainage engineering.
• Proven experience with UAE-based projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Valid UAE driving licence.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Hydraulic Engineering or Water Resources.
• Experience with hydraulic analysis software such as InfoWorks ICM or SWIM.
• Familiarity with ADSSC drainage design standards and Abu Dhabi submission processes.
• Membership in a recognized professional body (ICE, IMechE, ASCE, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of road design principles for infrastructure coordination.
