Domestic Trading & Market Intelligence Manager

Responsibilities

• Drive and execute integrated domestic and third-party coal trading strategies to maximize value
• Develop and align third-party trading strategies with internal stakeholders
• Execute domestic purchasing strategies using market intelligence and performance insights
• Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of domestic sales and purchase agreements
• Monitor contract terms, pricing, and payment conditions to support margin delivery
• Strengthen commercial risk management through controls and governance
• Build and maintain strong customer, supplier, and stakeholder relationships
• Manage a pipeline of domestic third-party trading opportunities to drive revenue growth
• Analyze market trends, pricing, supply-demand dynamics, and ESG factors
• Establish standards for commercial data collection, validation, and reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Commerce, Supply Chain, or Geosciences (NQF Level 7)
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in physical sales, marketing, or trading, preferably in commodities
• Proven experience in commercial deal structuring and contract execution
• Proficient knowledge of mining legislation and domestic logistics
• Strong understanding of contractual frameworks and pricing models

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the mining industry within supply, operational, or finance departments
• Direct thermal coal experience
