Responsibilities

• Analyze Physical AI use cases within production systems, focusing on humanoid robotics and flexible automation
• Develop a structured production benchmark for Physical AI and AI-supported evaluation methods for prioritizing deployment
• Support the prototypical implementation of a decision framework that integrates use cases, production constraints, and AI-based evaluation
• Contribute to the development of a cost-oriented AI evaluation approach linking technical requirements with economic criteria
• Compare Physical AI deployment scenarios across Germany, Singapore, and China, considering plant, procurement, and supply chain conditions
• Validate developed approaches using selected BMW use cases to derive decision criteria for pilot projects and global transfer

Requirements

• Degree in Intelligent Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field
• Strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data-driven modeling, or AI-supported decision-making
• Proficient programming skills, ideally in Python and relevant AI, Data Science, or Machine Learning frameworks
• Deep interest in Physical AI, humanoid robotics, intelligent production systems, and industrial automation
• Foundational understanding of production systems, assembly processes, cost engineering, operations management, or supply chain analysis
• Fluency in both German and English
