DoD Simulation Analyst

Responsibilities

• Configure, adapt, troubleshoot, and enhance advanced military simulation capabilities
• Translate operational questions into executable simulation scenarios
• Extend or modify simulation models and scenario configurations
• Identify performance or fidelity issues and gather actionable feedback
• Collaborate with operators, analysts, and subject matter experts to clarify mission context
• Document assumptions, limitations, data pedigree, and risks
• Convert field observations into bug reports, feature requests, and roadmap recommendations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Over 5 years of experience in simulation, preferably for military applications
• Proficiency in configuring and operating complex military simulations
• Experience in building repeatable scenarios and managing configuration baselines
• Ability to diagnose model behavior and troubleshoot run-time failures
• Practical experience with scripting, version control, and configuration management
• Ability to operate in a military customer environment adhering to classification rules
• Active or eligible security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in military wargaming, campaign analysis, or agent-based simulation
• Knowledge of verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A)
• Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, C#, Lua, or SQL
• Experience with simulation interoperability (HLA, DIS, TENA)
• Familiarity with military operations, command and control, or mission analysis
