About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize project documentation, ensuring accuracy, version control, and accessibility
- Implement document control procedures in alignment with stakeholder standards and industry best practices
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and internal policies
- Track and manage document revisions, approvals, and distribution across project stakeholders
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure proper document flow
- Facilitate communication between internal teams and external stakeholders regarding document updates
- Provide training and guidance on document control processes to project personnel
- Utilize enterprise document management systems to store and retrieve project records
- Ensure proper indexing and metadata tagging for efficient document retrieval
- Support audits and inspections by maintaining organized and accessible records
- Generate reports on document status, approvals, and outstanding actions
- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure document integrity and compliance with project requirements
- Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory submissions and project closeout
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, project management, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on document controls experience on large (>$500M) heavy-civil infrastructure projects
- Experience with construction documents including drawings, RFIs, submittals, and correspondence
- Familiarity with ISO-based document control standards
- Proficiency with enterprise document control systems (e.g., SharePoint, e-Builder, Procore, Aconex, Asite)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or project management
- Experience with large-scale highways, roads, bridges, transit, or airport projects
- Experience across multiple project lifecycle phases
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other dashboard KPI reporting software
