Dock Clerk

Responsibilities

• Oversee the loading of containers and packages at the docks to ensure safe transportation.
• Verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists, for accuracy.
• Physically verify goods against shipping documents using inventory control systems or scanners.
• Supervise dock workflow to ensure efficient and timely operations in coordination with drivers and the operations team.
• Maintain clear communication with planning and transportation departments to ensure smooth logistics.
• Observe and report any damage or discrepancies in the loading process.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours depending on daily work volume.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Certified in PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) or a willingness to undergo training.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as FMS, DMS, or TMS.
• Experience with Manhattan and Oracle systems.
• Familiarity with professional sports leagues and teams.
